Mullite Steel-Casting Brick · Designed for Molten Steel Pouring Applications

Applications: Ladle pouring system, continuous casting tundish, runner trough, nozzle seat blocks
Mullite Steel-Casting Brick for Continuous Casting - Puxin Refractory

Product Overview

Mullite Steel-Casting Brick is manufactured with high-quality mullite as the primary phase, with certain grades incorporating corundum aggregate, fired at high temperatures. This product is mainly used in steelmaking continuous casting processes, serving as flow channels and molten steel holding components during the transfer from ladle to tundish and then to the mold.

Typical Applications

Ladle pouring nozzles and sleeve brick systems; tundish impact zone, flow stabilizers, and nozzle seat blocks; bottom-pouring runner channels, central sprue tubes, and related special-shaped casting components; molten steel contact areas sensitive to rapid temperature changes, steel erosion, and slag attack.

Product Features

• Good thermal shock resistance: The low thermal expansion coefficient of the mullite phase enables adaptation to temperature fluctuations during casting start and stop cycles, reducing the risk of cracking and spalling;
• Erosion resistance against molten steel: Dense brick structure provides effective resistance against molten steel and slag attack;
• Accurate dimensions and smooth flow channels: Special-shaped parts can be custom fabricated per drawings, reducing the risk of steel leakage and inclusion entrapment during casting.

Supply Information

Puxin Refractory can customize Mullite Steel-Casting Bricks and matching special-shaped parts according to customer drawings, runner dimensions, and continuous casting process requirements. The specific material formulation, performance indicators, and applicable conditions should be confirmed based on actual steel grades, pouring temperatures, and erosion environments.
